​This commissioned  custom guitar, created for Ms. Lauryn Hill, was finished in a deep cherry red  high gloss stain. This design was brought to life as a tribute to the enduring impact and legacy of Ms. Lauryn Hill—an artist whose voice, style, and cultural resonance remain unmatched. This redesigned Gibson Les Paul, was carefully stripped and revamped into a vibrant, one-of-a-kind piece that merges music, memory, and unique design.

The body radiates with rich, saturated color that allows the wood grain to subtly emerge beneath the transparent gloss. At the heart of the piece is a hand-painted silhouette of the photo that appeared on Ms. Hill's debut solo album- The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill-rendered in bold, high-contrast shades of black and crimson.  The precision in the line-work and rich tone give the image both power and reverence, elevating this guitar from functional instrument to a living accolade.The etched image near the electronics cavity is the Ruffhouse Records logo, a nod to the very label that launched Hill’s meteoric rise and her decades long partnership with our very own CEO and creator, Chris Schwartz  that began when he signed Lauryn and the Fugees to his renowned label, Ruffhouse Records.
